Engagement

I first met Hanelle and James over coffee to to discuss their upcoming wedding this summer and set a date for their engagement session.  Right away I knew I was going to click with this couple; they are so cute and so much fun!  For their session we went to beautiful Louise McKinney Park in Edmonton.  I love this space, it has the city as a backdrop as well as the gorgeous river valley.  Here are some of the favourites from Hanelle and James' stunning e-session :)

I am so excited to photograph their wedding this summer xo

Here is a gorgeous fall e-session with Lana and Jesse.  I've known Lana and Jesse for quite a few years and when I heard they were engaged I was really excited for them and even more excited when they e-mailed me regarding photographing their wedding!  They are such a great looking couple and are so much fun to be around!  For their engagement session we went out to my father's farm to take advantage of some of fall's beautiful-ness.  I love love fall time for photos with the light, the colours, and here the gorgeous giant dandelion puffs!

I love photographing engagement sessions!  It gives me a chance to get to know my amazing couples before their wedding and it allows them to become comfortable with the camera.

Here is a gorgeous e-session of Kelly + Teddy!  For their session we went out to Kelly's parents acreage, which is actually where the wedding will be taking place as well.  What a beautiful yard!  I can't imagine a more perfect spot for their session! :)

Congratulations Kelly + Teddy, I cannot wait for your wedding next summer! xo

As I am still catching up on my blog posts, without further ado here is Laurel and Danny's gorgeous Calgary engagement session.

As I am trying to stay up with the blogging here is another engagement session with wonderful couple Amy + Paul.  Being from Calgary, Amy and Paul decided to do their engagement session there which was no problem for me as I love visiting Calgary and my friends and family who live there.  They decided to have the session at Prince's Island Park, it was my first time at the park and I must say wow is it ever beautiful.  It is right next to downtown and when you enter the park it feels like a whole other area of the city.

Michelle and Darek met when they were both swimming with the Penguins Masters Swim Club, which I love as I actually used to swim with Darek with the same club.  So when I received an e-mail from a Michelle and Darek inquiring about photographing their wedding and put two and two together I was quite excited as it is always great to see friends find happiness.  And I must say Darek and Michelle are such a great couple and seem so happy together.

On a beautiful day in March I met up with Kim and Landon for their winter engagement session at Budmiller Park in Lloydminster.  The sun was trying to peak through the clouds creating some beautiful light and luckily the snow decided to stick around for that day.  Normally having snow for photos would never be an issue during our Alberta winters, however this winter it seemed to not be so prominent.  Anyways, we had a lot of fun on the session, this couple was great to photograph!  I've posted some of the favorites from the session below to check out :)

I first met Lisha a couple years ago when I photographed her for her highschool graduation/senior photos.  I was very excited to hear from her announcing her engagment to Sean and hoping that I would be available to photograph her April wedding.  I remember having a wonderful time photographing her before and was very happy she had contacted me.  After meeting for coffee we set the date for her and Sean's engagement session - a beautiful winter day in December.  We decided to go Messum Park in Lloydminster, a location where we actually did some of her grad photos.

Well I am back after a very busy but wonderful Christmas season and after my family's annual Lake Louise New Years Trip, which was as always fabulous!

Cailin and John met while both students attending Concordia University and last spring while on vacation in Mexico John proposed to Cailin.  I was very excited when I met with them about their wedding and became their photographer for their wedding and engagement photos.  I have actually known John for a very long time as I grew up and am very close friends with his older sister.  I love when I get to photograph people I know, there is already a level of comfort with each other and it's always to see people I know so happy!
