Wow, this is amazing for me, another blog update within a couple of days! Lol, I do realize I need to update my blog way more often and that is a goal of mine for 2010. Well this post is about my little puppy Zuko. I had a bunch of commercial shoots in the studio one day and since my little man was going to be getting a hair cut that day I figured why not end the day of shooting with a little photo session of Zuko! Thank goodness my mom brought him in and stayed to help because everything I got him in place by the time I was back to take the photo he was next to me.

This past weekend I attended the PPOC-AB (Professional Photographers of Canada) convention that was held in Edmonton. My wonderful friend Chantal ( decided to accompany me as well, it had been awhile since we had hung out as she lives in Calgary, but as always good times were had! We only could make to Saturday, where we attended Tyler Meade's platform. Tyler has a also been a friend of mine ( for a few years since meeting at Image Explorations. It was really cool to hear him speak about his commercial photography.

As soon I heard Vancouver had won the bid to host the Olympics in 2010, I knew I wanted to be there to experience it. I have always been an Olympic nut, my TV is tuned into the games 24/7 every two years for the winter and summer games. How cool is it that this winter games is so close to home, there was no way I was going to miss out. A year and half ago I began the process to become a volunteer, what better way to see the games I thought.

The weekend of May 23rd was this years annual PPOC (Professional Photographer's of Canada) conference.  Although I was unable to attend as I was photographing an amazing wedding in Miami (teaser still to come), some equally amazing and exciting news awaited me when I returned!  I found out that two of my prints I submitted to the print competition were accepted one with merit even!  And the best part was to find out I won Best in Class - Fashion for my "Prairie Girl" photograph!

A couple weeks ago, that went by fast, I had a little trip out to Vancouver to visit a few photographer friends.  I was lucky enough to have an awesome hotel for the first few days, that hotel would be Amber & Bryn's home!  I had so much fun that weekend with Amber, I experienced my first cruiser bike tour around Vancouver.  Definitely a great way to spend a Friday night, saw an amazing city and got exercise at the same time!

Alright, I know it has already been two weeks since Vegas and I am just now getting my photos posted from the amazing Scott Robert Workshop that took place before WPPI. But better late than never! As always, I had an awesome time at the workshop; met more amazing people and it was so much fun to see friends that I haven't seen since Paris! Like previous workshops, I learned new things and practiced posing and using natural light as well as off camera flash and flashlight. The first day we went to the Neon Boneyard to do some shooting, that place was so cool.
